Featured in an entire chapter and the front cover of the volume Decorating with Interesting Objects, Alger House has an array of eclectic, harmonious features: stained glass, sky lights, antique bathrooms, life-sized statues, fine prints and paintings, Victorian fireplaces, Persian carpets, indoor garden, Chippendale furnishings, antique bar, wide oak floors and high ceilings, large elevator, antique building details, grand piano, and antique building ornaments. The Great Room is grand, but intimate. The Garden Room is elegant, but light-hearted.
The catering is first class and imaginative. The block is a lovely, quiet, tree-lined street with a park at its entrance.
